Scholarships
There are many scholarships and grants available to assist Australia Students to study abroad on exchange. Listed below are some of the scholarships and grants available to students. Students are encouraged to search the internet and other resources to find scholarship opportunities.
Chinese Government Scholarship
The Chinese Government is offering an SCU student/staff member, a once in a lifetime opportunity to study in China at Hebei University (HBU) in International Economy and Trade, Finance, Accounting, Clinical Discipline of Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine. The Scholarship inlcudes tuition fees, a living allowance and medical insurance. The deadline for the application is 15 April 2012. Endeavour Scholarship Programme
The Endeavour Scholarship Programme was set up by the Australian Government to encourage Australian university student mobility within the region. Scholarships are generally available for exchange to Asian and North American institutions only. The Endeavour programme includes three programmes:
- Endeavour Scholarship Exchange Programme (ESEP)
- Endeavour Cheung Kong Programme
- University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific Programme (UMAP)
To apply, students must submit an essay, an application form and bank details. Scholarships are generally awarded on GPA merit and students are required to provide a report upon completion of their exchange.
Information collected when applying for an Endeavour Scholarship may be passed on to the Australian Government through the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and its contractors and funding partners.

University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP)
There are limited scholarships available through UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) Endeavour and Cheung Kong Student Exchange Programme funding. These programs are designed to increase the number of Australian students undertaking exchange studies at other Universities in the region.
The Department of Education Science and Training is currently offering subsidies of $5000 per student exchange visit to assist with the cost of airfares and accommodation. This funding must be applied for in advance and is not automatically granted.
Some other partner institutions offer accommodation and tuition scholarships. Come into the international office and discuss the options or speak with your course coordinator.
